Countertop Support Bracket – Forward L
Hidden Countertop Supports
In-Wall Brackets countertop supports are designed to be inherently durable. These products are manufactured from authentic American steel that spans ½” by 2 ½” in diameter. We often receive inquiries about how the Standard granite countertop supports differ from the Forward L Brackets. Our answer to this query is always the same: where will the countertop be used?
The Forward L Countertop Support is the best choice for places that get a lot of traffic, such as in commercial establishments. This is also a great product to use in homes with young kids. The kitchen counter in these homes often serves as a meeting place for the entire family, some of whom may not be more comfortable sitting on the counter than on chairs. The same is true in the bathroom, especially if you have two or more teenage girls who like to spend time in front of the bathroom vanity doing each other’s hairs.
The Forward L Bracket is also the most-recommended support for 18-inch overhangs. That’s because the brackets come with additional mounting points on its flange that gives extra support. Installers can attach the flange in two places:
- The knee wall or pony wall’s cap
- The vertical studs
The versatility of the Forward L Bracket extends from knee wall installations to island countertop support. In-Wall Brackets does have a variety of other brackets that are designed to support island countertops, such as the Standard Plus Hidden Countertop Support Bracket.
Modern commercial cabinets are now made out of particle board. This means the cabinet’s supports are not suitable for bracket installations or even corbels. In this case, installers will have to reinforce the inside walls of the cabinet, including the top and back walls, with 2x4” gussets. You can view more of information about this on our installation guides.
