How to Successfully Hide the Front Mounting Plus Countertop Support Bracket
- The
sheet rock located in the area of the stud where the bracket will be installed should be carefully removed. - A wooden stud will be used for these In-Wall Brackets. You have to install wood blocking if you’ll be working on metal studs.
- After successfully mounting the In-Wall Bracket to the stud, you must make sure that the top of the bracket is on the same level as the granite placement. You have to shim the bracket if it looks like your stud wall is not square. Keep in minds that the shims should be placed not on the horizontal support but in between the stud and bracket.
- To successfully cover a bracket, you can use a “Quick Patch” sheet-rock kit after securing the support in place.
- It’s never a good idea to place the bracket directly on the
sheet rock , especially when mounting in an exposed application. Thesheet rock is not created to support heavy weights and will instantly crumble if used inheavy weight applications. Once this unfortunate thing happens, the support capacity will no longer be sufficient and its connection to the stud will no longer be solid.
